‘The Nitty Gritty’
How many times have you said ‘I am so sick of looking at all this crap?’ For me it is daily. Still, in a relatively organized space, I see things that I don’t use or need or want. Sometimes it really does take time. In many cases, you can purge and categorize and give everything a home, but it’s not until you truly live in your new space, that you can assess what you use and get into ‘The Nitty Gritty’ of it. That’s why we always recommend you revisit your space with clear intentions' 3-4 months after your initial space revamp . Have you used all those platters and bowls? Worn those jeans? Is using something once in four months justification to keep it around? Hopefully, we have helped give you the tools, through our initial consultations, to tackle this on your own. If in 3-4 months you are noticing the system isn’t as easy for you to manage as you thought i.e. you LOVE LOVE LOVE the look of bins, but you go to get a snack and all the snacks are sitting on top of your beautifully labeled empty bins...maybe we have to reel it in a bit. The object of organizing is to make your life less stressful not to make you feel guilty about the system not working for your family.
The first steps are pretty similar with every job and most professional organizers use their variation on the same process for those steps.
